The Institute for Baseball Studies is the first humanities-based research center of its kind associated with a college or university in the United States. The Institute is a collaborative effort of Whittier College administrators and faculty members, and the Baseball Reliquary.

Collections include photographs and newspaper clippings of Irwindale. Materials are uncatalogued and unsorted at the moment, and difficult to use. The SCI-Arc Media Archive is a continuously-expanding online showcase with over 1400 hours of videotaped lectures featuring the world’s most significant architects, designers, and theorists—including 11 Pritzker Prize winners—from 1972 to now, offered to the public unedited, for students, scholars, and anyone with an interest in architecture, Los Angeles, and experimental design.
