Archive / Collection information

The SCI-Arc Media Archive is a continuously-expanding online showcase with over 1400 hours of videotaped lectures featuring the world’s most significant architects, designers, and theorists—including 11 Pritzker Prize winners—from 1972 to now, offered to the public unedited, for students, scholars, and anyone with an interest in architecture, Los Angeles, and experimental design.

The original SMA website was launched in Fall 2012, with support provided by The Getty Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. The current version – SCI-Arc Channel - was launched in Spring 2020.

The SCI-Arc Media Archive is a participant in the LAAS and ONE Archives Hidden Histories project
