The Society of California Archivists, formed in 1971, is a professional association devoted to the support and development of individuals and institutions that collect, care for, and provide access to the documentary heritage of California and adjoining areas.

Southern California Genealogical Society

The SCGS Library holds nearly 40,000 volumes, with a relatively small portion of the material related to LA. We have published indices to cemetery records, vital (birth, death and marriage) records, and immigration and naturalization. We provide free access to some data on our website. The Motorsports Education Foundation a non-profit society

A digitized, JPEG, DOC, PDF, MP3 collection of photo albums, oral history tapes and text from the personal albums and interviews of engine builders and auto-racing notables active in the Los Angeles Basin 1880s-1984. Family immigration from England, France, Germany and Canada is noted along with some 'old-country' testimony. The file is approx. 20GB in size. Papers posted on academia.edu

The Museum of the San Fernando Valley

A digitized and hard copy JPEG, DOC, PDF, DVD collection of photo albums, oral history DVD's (approximately 50) from personal albums and interviews of valley residents including WWII veterans, policeman, fireman, actors, housewives, cowboys, farmers and business leaders from 1930s to present. Books and letters on the entertainment industry, history of the San Fernando Valley.
