The archaeological site material in the museum’s collections dates from approximately 8,000 thousand years ago to the early 1800s. The Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Art & Artifact Collection/Archive and Museum has amassed objects since the opening of the first district school in 1855. Artifacts and artworks are located at both schools and administrative sites.
