Childrens Hospital Society of Los Angeles was established in 1901 by a small group of women who recognized the need for a hospital that could serve ill, crippled, and under-privileged children. Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden

The Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden has a large archive of historic photographs relating to Rancho Santa Anita, Elias J.(Lucky) Baldwin and this history of the Arboretum. It also holds thephotographic archive of William Chrisman Aplin (1912-1993) a photographer who worked for Sunset magazine and photographed extensively the plants and gardens of Southern California.

Orange Empire Railway Museum

Founded in 1956, the Orange Empire Railway Museum preserves the railway history of Los Angeles and Southern California. In addition to its large collection of full size railway cars and locomotives, its archives contains extensive materials on the Los Angeles Railway and Pacific Electric Railway, as well as the mainline railroads that served Southern California.
