The Historical Society of Long Beach (HSLB) was formed in 1962 with the mission to collect, preserve, and present the city’s history. Throughout the years the HSLB has occupied many locations around the city, settling at its current location in Bixby Knolls in 2007. Operations are sustained at the HSLB by grant funding, membership dues, and community fundraising through programs and events.

The Hollywood Bowl Museum is located on the grounds of the world-famous Hollywood Bowl. The museum’s exhibits and archival holdings document the history of the Hollywood Bowl. These holdings include programs, posters, books, films, videos, photographs, promotional materials, postcards, correspondence, and ephemera. The Homestead Museum collection includes a diverse array of items from Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Region covering the general period of 1830 to 1930 and includes ephemera, maps, photographs, printed works, and three-dimensional everyday artifacts. The Homestead Museum is a participant in the LAAS and ONE Archives Hidden Histories project.
