Palmdale City Library

The Palmdale City Library's local history collection contains approximately 10,000 items relating to the history of the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas, including maps, photographs, artifacts, and information collected by Fred Strasburg for the City of Palmdale. Topics include agriculture, entertainment and film industry, mining, Southern Pacific Railroad, LA aqueduct, indigenous peoples, aerospace, and aviation. We also have the only collection of the Antelope Valley Press throughout its history, as well as selections of other Antelope Valley Publications dating back as far as 1915. We have select yearbooks from most Antelope Valley area high schools dating back to the 1960s and a significant book collection focusing on the Antelope Valley area.
