LA as Subject receives J. Thomas Owen History Award

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles City Historical Society (LACHS) honored LA as Subject with the J. Thomas Owen History Award.  The award was given in recognition of LA as Subject's work in advocating for the region's archival collections held in institutions both large and small.

"Both the LA as Subject website and the annual Archives Bazaar are invaluable efforts... LA as Subject has shown that it is a sustainable resource in promoting and bringing to light the holdings of over 200 archives and private collections and serving as an association to further the interests of both public and private repositories, as well as historical sites."

Current LA as Subject Executive Committee members, Kenn Bicknell and Dale Stieber, were on hand at the LACHS holiday gala dinner to accept the award on behalf of the entire group. Other LACHS award recipients honored that evening include Raphe Sonenshein, Darnell Hunt, Ana Christine Ramon, Glen Creason, and Lauren Bon of Metabolic Studio.
