Mount St. Mary's College

Mount St. Mary's College was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1925 as the first Catholic women's college west of the Mississippi. It comprises two historic sites, the Chalon Campus high above Brentwood (1930), and the Doheny Campus, which occupies the former estate of Edward and Estelle Doheny, including the Doheny Mansion at 8 Chester Place (1906). The Mount's renowned nursing program, established in 1948, offered the city's first four-year baccalaureate degree in nursing. The Mount is widely respected for its leadership and research in diversity in higher education.

Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Archives documents the history of the recreation area dating back to before its beginnings in 1978 as a park unit of the National Park Service. Records include those from the Office of the Superintendent, Public Affairs, Planning Science and Resource Management, Permits Office, Interpretation & Education and Maintenance. The archives contain materials from individuals and organizations connected to the recreation area such as environmentalist Margot Feuer, Chumash Chief Charlie Cooke, scientist Margaret Stassforth, Los Angeles County division assistant fire chief Harvey Anderson, the Mountain Conservancy Foundation, and the Friends of Satwiwa. The collection also includes historical materials regarding federal park sites within the recreation area such as Paramount Ranch, Rancho Sierra Vista, Circle X Ranch, Solstice Canyon, Franklin Canyon and Peter Strauss Ranch.

USC Warner Bros. Archives

Donated to USC by Warner Communications in 1977, the USC Warner Bros. Archives [WBA] is the largest and possibly the richest single studio collection of paper documents in the world. The centerpiece of the collection is records from Warner Bros. Burbank-based film and television studio dating from the beginning of the studio to 1967. It is the only collection to bring production, distribution and exhibition records together to document the activities of a vertically integrated studio. In the archives' collection, the making of many classic films--including The Jazz Singer, Casablanca and Rebel Without a Cause--is documented from story acquisition through theatrical release, including daily contributions of actors, directors, producers and writers.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art Archives

The Archives of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is currently being established through a generous grant from the Getty Foundation as a part of its special initiative "On the Record: Art in L.A. 1945–1980". The Archives will be the repository for LACMA's institutional records of enduring value; collecting, preserving and making them accessible through the Balch Research Library. The Archives also includes a select number of collections relating to artists and others who have made important contributions to the Museum. The Motorsports Education Foundation a non-profit society

A digitized, JPEG, DOC, PDF, MP3 collection of photo albums, oral history tapes and text from the personal albums and interviews of engine builders and auto-racing notables active in the Los Angeles Basin 1880s-1984. Family immigration from England, France, Germany and Canada is noted along with some 'old-country' testimony. The file is approx. 20GB in size. Papers posted on academia.edu

Collection dates prior to separation from Los Angeles County (1889)to present. Bulk of collection dates from 1889 to 1953 and is Orange County specific.

Glendale Community College

146 linear feet of historical materials related to the college and Glendale History including administrative documents, institutional records and publications, newspapers, clippings, yearbooks, scrapbooks, photographs, slides, videos, catalogs, class schedules, directories and memorabilia.

Chapman University, Leatherby Libraries

The Frank Mt. Pleasant Library of Special Collections & Archives Library is the principle repository for the preservation and access of the Leatherby Libraries’ rare and unique collections. Special Collections holds rare books, manuscripts, maps and collections of enduring value while the Archives preserves the history of the university and the Chapman family. The department includes the Dan and Sarah Caton Hogan Seminar Room with appropriate presentation technology, the Aquin Mitsuo Yamagishi Reading Room, and the Huell Howser Reading Room. The Library was named by the late Trustee C. Stanley Chapman, Jr., and his wife, Joan Mt. Pleasant Chapman in honor of Joan’s uncle, Frank Mt. Pleasant, a Tuscarora Indian. The Jonathan Heritage Foundation Archives, The Jonathan Club

The collection consists of records and artifacts pertaining to the history of The Jonathan Club, a social club founded in Los Angeles in 1896 and currently serving 4,000 members. Included are thousands of photographs of members and member events, a full run of the Jonathan Magazine (1931-present), some early rosters and registers of Club activities, and realia from various club headquarters and offices (including the Beach Club in Santa Monica).
