Special Collections and Archives at the Oviatt Library at CSU, Northridge is happy to announce the opening of a new exhibit, What She Said: 100 Years of Women's Civic and Community Engagement, on display from August 31, 2018 to July 1, 2019. The exhibit celebrates the upcoming 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in the United States, and features archival materials documenting the civic and community participation of women in Los Angeles and across the country. More information on the new exhibit is available here.

Parking information:
Parking is free. There is pull-in street parking along Lucerne. And a huge lot on the East side of Lucerne south of Wilshire that belongs to Ebell. Then another lot on the West side of the Ebell that is accessed via a “dead end” 8th St. The dead end leads into the lot. All are available except for a few places marked reserved.

Join PBS SoCal and USC Libraries for a genealogy-inspired evening. We’ll screen clips from this season of FINDING YOUR ROOTS and enjoy a panel conversation about the importance of researching less-visible histories, and how exploring diverse stories allows communities to reveal their histories. Liza Posas, “L.A. as Subject” Coordinator for USC Libraries will host the conversation with representatives from local minority-focused genealogical societies. Panel will feature: Liza Posas, L.A. as Subject Coordinator Kenyatta Berry, Author, “The Family Tree Toolkit”; Host, Genealogy Roadshow (PBS) Michael Ho, President, Chinese Family History Group of Southern California A representative from the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America- SoCal Chapter Corporate funding for “Finding Your Roots” was provided by Ancestry, Johnson & Johnson and AT&T. Major funding was provided by the Ford Foundation. Additional funding was provided by Candace King Weir, Lloyd Carney Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
