The Special Collections holdings reflect the diverse communities of the Claremont Colleges and the local area and region. Among the collections especially pertinent to Los Angeles and Southern California are the following:

A digitized, JPEG, DOC, PDF, MP3 collection of photo albums, oral history tapes and text from the personal albums and interviews of engine builders and auto-racing notables active in the Los Angeles Basin 1880s-1984. The Salvation Army Museum of the West houses materials of the Western Territory of the Salvation Army.
