The Department of Archives and Special Collections, of the Hannon Library, Loyola Marymount University, acquires, organizes, and opens to research, primary source materials in the arts, humanities, education, and religion.

The Special Collections holdings reflect the diverse communities of the Claremont Colleges and the local area and region. Among the collections especially pertinent to Los Angeles and Southern California are the following:

A digitized and hard copy JPEG, DOC, PDF, DVD collection of photo albums, oral history DVD's (approximately 50) from personal albums and interviews of valley residents including WWII veterans, policeman, fireman, actors, housewives, cowboys, farmers and business leaders from 1930s to present. Books and letters on the entertainment industry, history of the San Fernando Valley.
