The Sherman Library holds significant collections related to Los Angeles and the surrounding area. In joining LA as Subject we hope to inform more people about our holdings. Our core collections include records of Moses H. Sherman. Sherman was the developer responsible for Sherman Oaks and Sherman (which became West Hollywood). He was also a partner with Harry Chandler in the Hollywoodland development and Tejon Ranch. Sherman was also a member of the Los Angeles Water Board and an early developer of street railroads
